Rapid Weight Loss Diet

Following a rapid weight loss diet is not a good idea. Healthy weight loss takes time and any program that promises to make you lose weight quickly does not have your best interests in mind. Losing ten pounds over the course of ten days is dangerous and don’t let anybody change your mind about that.

We understand that sometimes you get scared and want to lose weight quickly. Maybe there is an event coming up and you want to wear a smaller size when you attend the event. You might be temped to find a rapid weight loss diet on the internet or go on a crash diet. Resist the urge! There are all sorts of ways to hide or disguise weight. Losing weight needs to be done in a healthful way or it isn’t worth it.

A healthy weight loss rate is a few pounds dropping off each week, and to do this, you need to eat a healthy and balanced diet (trade the McDonald’s for a home cooked meal is a good way to start) and you need to exercise regularly. To lose one pound, you need to burn thirty five hundred calories. Weight loss is basic math: if you burn more calories than you take in, you will lose weight.

Talk to your doctor. The two of you can work out a healthy weight loss plan. Do not let those rapid weight loss diet listings on the internet suck you in and give you false hope. Rapid weight loss is completely unhealthy and any site that tells you differently is lying. Losing weight takes time and hard work, but when you reach your goal you will feel so much better.

Here are a few things to keep in mind while working toward your weight loss goal:

Tip #1

The easiest and healthiest way to lose weight is simply to burn more calories than you take in. This means keeping track of the amount of calories you eat in a day and then making sure that your workout routine burns at least the same amount if not a little bit more.

Tip #2

The best diet is to simply eat a well balanced diet. Remember that food pyramid they taught you in school? Follow it! Also, pay attention to portion control. What can pass for a single portion now could have been two or even three portions a few years ago.

Tip #3

Muscle weighs more than fat, so aim for losing inches, not pounds. As you eat healthier and exercise more your body will build muscle mass and lose fat. This means that your weight might not lower as much as you wish it would but you could end up losing several inches around your waist!
